My name is Magdalena. I have been working with oils for over twenty years. I am a landscape painter also having a great interest in still -life compositions and dream illustration.
The landscape is ever-changing—shaped by time, movement, and light. As a contemporary landscape artist, I seek to capture the raw beauty and shifting moods of the natural world—both the vast coastal scenery that surrounds me and the quiet depth of forest landscapes. Living near the coast, I am deeply inspired by the rhythm of the sea, the shifting sky, and the interplay of light on the water. But I am equally drawn to the dense tranquillity of forests, where movement feels slower, and the atmosphere holds a quiet mystery.
I work primarily with oils, drawn to their richness and ability to evoke emotion through texture and depth. My process is deeply intuitive, layering colour and light to reflect both stillness and motion. Some of my pieces explore the fleeting perspectives of landscapes viewed from a moving car—where the scenery blurs and transforms, offering glimpses of beauty that disappear in an instant.
Through my art, I aim to evoke both the serenity and dynamism of nature. I want viewers to experience the landscapes not just as places, but as emotions—moments of reflection, movement, and connection with the world around us.
I work from my studio in Bangor.
